High-profile celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is the go-to girl for a Hollywood figure, counting clients like Gwyneth Paltrow (her business partner), Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and Madonna among her devoted fans. The hard-working, hard-bodied exercise expert has been expanding her empire to DVDs and studio spaces. Now she's adding clothing designer to her CV.
Anderson launched a line of leggings today to suit her clients' fashionable fitness needs. A blend of 85 percent nylon and 15 percent Lycra spandex, these non-chafing, sweat-wicking babies promise to support and flatter.
"They’re supportive, but not too supportive to where you can’t move and feel you can exercise properly," Tracy tells Women's Wear Daily. "When you’re exercising you’re supposed to be able to not feel constricted."
The high-end trainer's workouts don't come cheap, and these leggings fit in Anderson's sky-high price bracket. Patterned capri styles sell for $60 and Anderson's super-sleek solid pair with built-in waist-whittling goes for $125. All styles promise "absolutely no muffin top" and a slew of other slimming technologies -- "the butt of a 22-year-old stripper," perhaps?
Tracy plans to open a full clothing store in Los Angeles next to the exercise studio she co-owns with Gwyneth. WWD reports that t-shirts and sports bras are on the way as well.
