Hermès
from September 27th to October 16th, 2010
A simple statement from Paris – I love my scarf. Shout it in the street, write it in lipstick on your mirror, stick it on your fridge, pin it to your chest.
J’aime mon carré!!
J’aime mon carré - how An Hermès scarf is for life and for living. The idea behind this simple project was born of the desire of Hermes’ artistic director of silk, Bali Barret, to document the fervour around that traditional silk square of which the Hermès ‘carré’ is the ultimate expression. British photographer, Matt Irwin, travelled to 4 capitals, to create a fanzine with art director, Dean Langley and stylist, Francesca Burns around 4 girls and their lives and loves – friends, lovers, places, and of course, their scarves.
www.jaimemoncarre.com the website will launch simultaneously with the first rendez-vous around J’aime mon carré. A site on which we discover the adventures of the girls, heaps of extra photos, films from each city and more importantly a ‘how to’ tie your scarf, with special Hermès knotting cards. There will also be a full listing and reporting on all the Hermes events taking place around the world as well as a link to the Hermes Facebook page.
I love my scarf – it’s my best friend
