must have. acrylic.

My best friend told me about her makeup organizer and I got obsessed. How could I not know about this?  I ordered mine and it just arrived, I only bought one to test the size and how much fits. I LOVE IT.  Pictures to come from my weekend project. Now I want to order several to organize under every sink in the house!

You can buy them online at amazon, etsy, bed & bath, so many variations and so many price ranges!
MUST HAVE organization that makes me so happy.

Oh la la! French shoe designer Christian Louboutin has announced he will be launching a cosmetics range.

Mr. Louboutin

It was a bottle of bright red nail enamel which first inspired Christian Louboutin to coat the soles of his vertiginous stilettos.

And now things have come full circle, as the footwear maestro has announced he will be launching his first cosmetics line next year.

The venture seems like a natural fit for the 49-year-old Frenchman who proclaimed 'the beauty adventure is the natural extension for someone like me, who likes to empower women'.

Can't wait to see what he has in store!

NAKED by Urban Decay

  • Virgin is a pale, shimmered nude beige. It’s very, very light, but it’s such a beautiful neutral. It’s a little frosty for a highlighter, particularly on darker skin tones, but it would make for a great all-over wash or pop of light on the inner tear duct.
  • Sin is a champagne with a touch of pink and a frostier finish.
  • Naked is a matte medium beige-brown. It has a very soft, smooth texture–not at all powdery or chalky.
  • Sidecar is a shimmered, medium bronze brown with almost a red undertone.
  • Buck is a matte darkened beige-brown. It’s really a darker version of Naked. It has the same silky smooth texture and rich color pay off of Naked, too.
  • Half Baked is a coppery bronze with a frost-metallic finish.
  • Smog is a medium dark bronze with a gilded bronze sheen.
  • Darkhorse is a darkened deep chocolate brown with flecks of bronze.
  • Toasted is a medium dark pinky brown with a shimmery finish.
  • Hustle is a dark plummy chocolate brown with a soft shimmer finish.
  • Creep is a darkened blue-black base with silver and teal shimmer.
  • Gunmetal is a blue-gray metallic that really must be seen to be appreciated. It almost feels like a duochrome, because it flashes blue but it’s dark and smoldering.

This came out in 2010 - I am slightly behind but no matter, I love this palette! Great for traveling as you really need nothing else for your eyes!

Iris Apfel for MAC

The nonagenarian style icon launches a cosmetics collection
The self-proclaimed ‘geriatric starlet’ makes her vibrant make-up debut – shrinking violets need not apply Age is but a number, and as if more proof were needed Iris Apfel – New York socialite and style icon - hit the big 90 this year and the world took note. This collaboration with Mac is the ultimate coalesce of minds, following a year of incredible, yet unconventional collaborations for the brand, ranging from cult artist Cindy Sherman to fashion pack favourite Daphne Guinness and British designer Gareth Pugh.

The collection itself revels in Apfel’s love of acid bright lipsticks, with matching nail shades adding a polished edge to the assertive affair. But it’s the sentiment of living your life boldly and unswervingly that makes these technicolour hues so exceptional. If we’re honest, we could all use a little Iris in our lives.
