Sometimes the significance of a certain situation is not noticed until much later in life. As a teenager, Claudia Schiffer adored wearing her mother’s cashmere pullover.
»Funnily enough, it was an Iris von Arnim, so I have grown up loving and knowing the brand« she remembers in conversation. At that point in time, Schiffer was not a top model and there were no signs that she might one day add another string to her bow as a fashion designer. But that’s life! Things come together. So it’s probably no coincidence that Claudia Schiffer created her first fashion collection with Iris von Arnim.
»I was looking for a company that would give me a free creative hand and where I could be an equal business partner,« says Schiffer, who is Creative Director, and explaining the reasons for the cooperation.
Realising shared visions on equal terms – this was the aspiration on both sides. Valentin von Arnim enthuses about their business partner too, someone who has long since become a friend of the family.
»When I visited Claudia the first time in her house in London, she opened the door herself,« says Valentin von Arnim. »We sat in her living room and talked about fashion and her love for our brand.
