Gucci creative director Frida Giannini created a special bag for Mother’s Day — and for a good cause. The limited edition bag, available at Gucci.com through June 15, benefits UNICEF programs to stop HIV infections among newborns, and retails for $970 with 25 percent going to the cause. “My inspiration for this special edition bag came from my trip to Malawi with UNICEF in November 2009, when I witnessed first hand the AIDS epidemic that affects entire generations of families,” Giannini said. Salma Hayek, a member of the PPR Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights and mother-of-one, is already a fan. "It’s easy, simple and efficient: a beautiful bag with a real social impact," she said.
