PIZZA in SF by Chef Hill!
Bix chef/owner Bruce Hill, a certified pizzaiolo who just happens to be responsible for some of the Bay Area's best pizzas at Larkspur's Pizzeria Picco (total fact), has a big-time pizza project on the way.
Hill has inked a deal to take over the vaunted Azie space (826 Folsom St.), where he'll install a 120-seat restaurant named Zero Zero, a reference to the flour that goes into traditional Neopolitan pies.

Bar Tartine

Located in the Mission district of San Francisco, delicious and simple fare.
Warm and intimate atmosphere make this a go to on a chilly SF nite.
Careful not to miss it, it can be a little hard to see.

Taylor's Automatic Refresher
Located on the embarcadero in the Ferry Building downtown San Francisco, maybe one of the best burgers EVER. Grab a cheese burger, fries and a vanilla shake - pure heaven!

Serpentine
Serpentine, in the lovely (and up & coming) Dogpatch district, is the sister restaurant to Slow Club (an SF favorite). They have created a very cool space and a fantastic constantly changing menu. Though the burger is a staple - YUM.

RN74

Michael Mina's latest venture in San Francisco located in the SOMA area.
The atmosphere is great, very downtown chic. Great lighting and lots of comfortable bar seating.
The wine list is fantastic, focusing on the burgundy's.
Though Mama only tried a few nibbles (Squash bloom flat bread, yum!) I am excited to return and dive into the menu.
With lots of young hipsters at the bar - this spot is making a mark and creating it's own scene.

Limon Rotisserie
Limon - 1001 South Van NessA few things to comment on right away - the parking situation is enough to make you turn around and go home. In the deeper Mission neighborhood, a bit off the beaten path. . . take a cab.
The space feels a bit unfinished, perhaps the high ceilings and the cement floor - though usually this is urban chic, in this location it feels a bit vacant.
The bar doesnt even have its shelves stocked, at least that is how it appears.
All this considered, these Peruvian nibbles are delicious. The menu is not large but everything we tasted was spot on: Ceviche, "Crispy" Chicken, Steak & Fries, Camarones and Red Sangria!

1/2 Rotisserie Chicken
They dont take reservations so get there early or the wait can be long.
Note: Underground drinking den, secret staircase near the bathroom!

Beretta

Gourmet Pizza's seem to be the thing of late.
I am busy tasting them all!!
Beretta replaces the old Last Supper Club in the Mission district - I have to admit that when I realized the Last Supper Club was gone I was a bit surprised. Out with the old in with the new I guess.
We saddled right up to the bar and had a festive Hemingway cocktail, a mixture white rum, lime, cane syrup, maraschino, grapefruit. . .a bit on the sweet side but refreshing.

Mama sure loves her pie.
