Ron Herman Teams up with J. Crew

Ron Herman (owner of Fred Segal) has partnered with Mickey Drexler (CEO of J. Crew)

Unusual fit?
J.Crew will now have a section in Fred Segal on Melrose Avenue. They are calling it J.Crew Special Selections and it will carry items specially selected by Herman himself.

Fascinating but the 2 players have been in retail for 30+years - they are obviously not new to the game. Herman is quoted as saying "Some people will come in and wonder "Is it OK if I buy J.Crew?' Damn right it is, they are the best at what they do, this selection is evidence at that".

I think this is wonderful news - FOR BOTH!
